ABOUT WHY MARY’S SS19 COLLECTION –

Crystal Maze

Inspired by the 60’s and 70’s rebellious fashion while reflecting on current global social and political movements, the colour palette is created from a bold kaleidoscopic of floral print simulating confusion and change.

OFS Presents Fifteen Independent Labels to Celebrate Creative Artistry at Fashion Week

New York, NY (September 8, 2018) – Today, Oxford Fashion Studio took over Pier 59 Studios presenting Spring/Summer 2019 collections from 15 independent fashion designers from all over the globe.

Oxford Fashion Studio held three runway shows throughout the day with the goal of promoting independent fashion designers for the good of creativity. Oxford Fashion Studio serves as a platform to guide brands to the next level with their group runway show concept.

“We began Oxford Fashion Studio with a love of supporting independent design talent. Going all out for individuals we believe in; for the good of independence, originality and integrity. 9 years on we are responsible for continuing to strengthen over 639 independent, quality designers, ranging from over 70 countries, to give them a platform in the four fashion capitals during fashion week. The talents we scout have often been undiscovered in the fashion capitals and we’re incredibly proud to be the ones to bring them to the front line of the industry.” says Runway Director, Tiffany Saunders

This season attracted some of the best designers Oxford Fashion Studio has seen over the past nine years.

ABOUT NIKI SRINIVASA’S SS19 COLLECTION –

Spring into Joy

Spring into Joy pushed the boundaries of how to incorporate dynamic silhouettes and unique fabric choices. The designer has two extremely juxtaposing sources of inspiration: Game of Thrones, and retro 90’s fashion. Military style layered clothing and layered gowns parallel the various layers Game of Thrones itself brings in. Layers and layering, as well as adding tactical components like large jackets and straps are key to the collection.

ABOUT JESSTURE’S SS19 COLLECTION –

Light

It wraps you and exposes you; it penetrates you and placates you; it shepherds and it sways; it glitters and it awakes. Eternity dwells in it, it waltzing at your fingertip. Don’t hide from the night. Go to the wild, chase the light from the sky. The darker the night is, the brighter the stars shine.

ABOUT C’est D’S SS19 COLLECTION –

FATOPIA: The Celebration of Flesh

Fatopia is redefining the concept of ‘fat’. This word is not an insult, it’s just an adjective that means you have more tissues in your body. However, society attaches too much hatred and discrimination to the word ‘fat’. We need to remove the stigma of this word and accept it just as it is. To achieve that, the designer is unapologetically designing FASHION for FAT bodies, and ultimately providing ‘choices’ that we’re missing right now.

ABOUT ATALANKA’S SS19 COLLECTION –

Anata

The designer has always been inspired by the simple complexity of the night sky. So many elements weave together beautifully to make something simple at first glance, only to be part of a much larger brighter story at work. This is where Anata came from, the dark night sky, the glimmer of a star and the dreams invoked by such a marvelous display.

  • Granted the Official Apple News Channel ‘Fashion Week’ – You can save it to your favorites here. Thank you, Apple! 🍎

If you’ve been following our channel in the last few months, you’ll notice we’ve slightly changed our content format – and we’ll continue to change and evolve.

One of the main reasons we’ve tweaked our content formula is to optimize and maximize our Apple News Channel. For a while, all @FashionWeek.Pro’s Instagram posts would automatically publish on the site + featured here. Unfortunately, those posts were not aesthetically pleasing on our Apple News Channel although they did drive good traffic to the site.

Also, our Fashion Week channel on Apple News did not import our entire RSS feed, so we are in the process of republishing our most popular features this week. There are many editorials that received thousands of hits on our website that we will be adding to our Official Apple News Channel before the end of the month.

The @FashionWeek.Pro Instagram account has also gone through a major remodeling! We are posting less often while adding more videos + making each post a gallery of images. Our stories have increased in quantities and frequency – some of our stories get thousands of views! Check out our IGTV channel with full runway show videos, exclusive footage & a unique video shopping experience.

We’ve added a new column segment to our channel called ‘Models We Love’ which has gotten a ton of traffic so far. We are working on our next supermodel couple feature – Tessa & Barron Hilton! Stay tuned + you can check out the new column here.

Thanks to all our lovely fans, followers + shoppers!

❤️❤️❤️

CELESTIAL INSPIRATION FOR LOVE & HOPE –

By: Lourdes Mestre

FashionWeek.pro was ecstatic when selected by Tadashi Shoji in August 2018 for a new marketing channel partnership.

Tadashi Shoji definitely takes us into the galaxy with an interpretive take on futurism executed like only he can – mastering textures, prints, lace & heavenly colours. Tadashi Shoji ardently declared minutes before his NYFW runway show that as there is so much division and dreadful news headlines in pop culture these days, he “thought we needed hope and love” infused into his Spring 2019 collection. The collection is simply spectacular. The many variations of lace used throughout the collection featured the sun, moon, and stars – all heavenly bodies captured in intricate detail through several executions including lurex thread & printed chiffon in some gowns. As a former buyer & product manager, I understand the painstaking detail and craftsmanship that the entire Tadashi Shoji team poured into this SS19 collection – especially on print strike-throughs & lace execution. I love that there was cohesion that developed from Tadashi Shoji‘s Fall 2018 line which featured shiny geometric patterns and those flowed into the Spring 2019 line with a renewed aesthetic. The colors were vibrant and lush – yet bursts of futuristic silver definitely shined among the rest. The cut out star motifs in several of the looks presented are fun and flirty. Although I don’t share Vogue’s Borrelli-Persson’s perspective that the line was too literal – the collection felt delightfully ethereal to us – I definitely agree with Laird that Tadashi Shoji can “make any woman feel like a star.” FashionWeek.Pro rates the Tadashi Shoji Spring 2019 collection 5-Stars!

FashionWeek.Pro valuta la collezione Tadashi Shoji Spring 2019 5-Stars!

via VOGUE – NEW YORK -SEPTEMBER 6, 2018

Open a paper, switch on the TV, there’s bad news everywhere, noted Tadashi Shoji before his Spring show, “so I thought we needed hope and love.” Hope, or perhaps more accurately, happiness, is built into the eveningwear category, and whether or not there’s a red carpet involved, Shoji’s glamorous dresses are intended to be worn for special, looked-forward-to occasions, and to make any woman feel like a star. For Spring, she could actually look like one, as the designer said he used the galaxies for inspiration.

Intentionally avoiding any references to space-age fashions of the 1960s, Shoji went (too) literal with his theme, creating a galaxy print, embroideries with moon and star patterns; the models even wore stellar-themed jewelry from Sequin. Every show needs an organizing principle, but Shoji’s adherence to his seasonal story felt narrow rather than expansive overall. An exception was a slinky draped column of silver Lurex with a star cut-out detail, a fun spin on a classic disco-era silhouette. And it was hard not to swoon over a gold-embroidered gown with one sleeve, or wish one had a place to wear a sequined jumpsuit in ombré shades of deepest reds.

Shoji took his bow in a patch-worked check suit of his own design; it would be interesting to see what would happen if he applied some of that free-form playfulness to his undeniably glamorous collections.
